As a licensed psychotherapist, Dr. Nathaniel Branden
works with individuals, couples, and families, and the central focus
of his practice is self-esteem and self-esteem-related issues:
"By 'self-esteem'," says Branden,
"I mean the experience of being competent to cope with the
basic challenges of life and as being worthy of happiness. Early
in my professional life I became convinced that if ways could be
developed to help people grow in self-esteem, a great many of their
problems would fall of their own weight or at least yield more quickly
to treatment. My experience working with therapy clients has confirmed
this premise."
Dr. Branden practices psychotherapy in his office
in Los Angeles, California, and on the telephone from clients all
over the country, and has found his telephone practice to be fully
as effective as his office practice.
